The Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) is essential eligibility criteria for the admission in Ph.D. programs in various subjects including a Ph.D. program in theoretical computer science at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences at more than 20 prestigious Indian research institutions. Although only a fine score in the test does not automatically entitle one to get a research fellowship. On the basis of JEST ranks, each participating institute shortlists for its own selection and the number of vacant seat and procedure depending on its post of requirements. All selected candidates will receive research fellowships from the respective institutes.
